Benefits of WIN:
- Email-Forwarding-For-Life
EFFL forwards all of your email from your WIN account to your forwarding address (the one you maintain at home/work).
- Online Alumni Directory
The directory allows you to find friends from school. WIN will display their contact information, as well as year of graduation, and spouse’s name.
- WIN allows you to update your contact information.
- It's totally free to alumni, parents, and friends of the University!

Information you will need to supply:
WIN ID: The WIN ID is used to log into and use a WIN service. It will also serve as the header for the EFFL address (WIN ID@alumni.wfu.edu). The WIN ID must contain no more than 30 characters. The characters that are acceptable are A-Z, a-z, 0123456789, dash, underscore and period. Use of profanity or erroneous identities (Thomas_K._Hearn, Samuel_Wait, Tim_Duncan, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
WIN Password: The WIN password, similar to the WIN ID, is also selected during the registration process. It allows the user to gain access to WIN services when accompanied with the proper ID. The WIN password must contain no more than 30 characters. The characters that are acceptable are A-Z, a-z, 0123456789, dash, underscore and period.
Forward-to Address: This feature tells WIN where to forward your e-mail. WIN does not store email. It is simply a forwarding service.
Mother's Maiden Name: Strictly a safety feature, this serves as a secondary form of identification in the event that you forget your normal password and cause WIN to lock up. It will be necessary to confirm your identity when you call to have your password reactivated.

WIN ID and password.
The WIN ID is used as your ID to access WIN, as well as the unique portion of your new Email-Forwarding-For-Life (EFFL) address. It is recommended that you select a WIN ID that is easily remembered and associated with you.
Since each WIN ID must be unique, we recommend that alumni use their class year as a part of their WIN ID.
Example:
WIN-ID: Tom-Jones-88
EFFL address: Tom-Jones-88@alumni.wfu.edu
The WIN ID must contain no more than 30 characters. The characters that are acceptable are A-Z, a-z, 0123456789, dash, underscore and period. Use of profanity or erroneous identities (Thomas_K._Hearn, Samuel_Wait, Tim_Duncan, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
For the sake of security, if a member forgets his/her password and fails to enter it correctly after eight (8) attempts, the account will be disabled. Wake Forest must be contacted in order to re-instate it. This is a security measure to ensure that no one hacks into WIN by guessing another member’s password.

Is WIN secure?
Yes! All WIN interaction is done through ‘secure-mode’ in your browser. Also, keep in mind that WIN is only accessible to the Wake Forest community. Furthermore, WIN has preferences that allow each WIN member to configure his/her personal information, making accessible only the information they wish to be made public to the Wake Forest community.
The information contained in the Wake Forest University alumni directory is the property of Wake Forest University. It is published in the alumni directory for the limited purpose of communication of a personal nature between students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Use of the directory for any other purpose, including but not limited to reproduction and storage in a retrieval system by any means, electronic or mechanical, photocopying or use of the addresses or other information contained in the directory for any mailing is strictly prohibited.

Why does WIN keep giving me "cookies?" Do I want them?
You must accept all "cookies" WIN sends to your computer. A "cookie" is basically a ticket that allows you access into every WIN service once you log in. WIN "cookies" make it possible for you to use all of WIN's services without having to log in each time you use a different one.
