International Admissions
Wake Forest University values diversity within the student body and is committed to enrolling students from around the world. With a small undergraduate student population and a dedicated faculty committed to teaching and research, Wake Forest offers an intimate and pleasant environment in which to live and learn. The special needs of our international students are served with expertise and passion by the faculty and staff of our Center for International Studies. From the moment you apply to the time you first step foot on campus, we are committed to making your Wake Forest experience extraordinary.
Applicants under Wake Forest's Regular Decision plan must submit the application by January 15.
International applicants may also apply Early Decision to Wake Forest. Early Decision applications and all other required materials must be submitted by November 15 in order to be considered under this binding admissions option.
International students are eligible for most Wake Forest Merit-Based Scholarship Programs. Substantial scholarships have been awarded to many international applicants. A separate application is not required. Scholarships are awarded to international applicants based on the admissions application. International applicants who wish to be considered for merit-based scholarships must submit all of the application materials by January 1. Both the admission and scholarship processes are highly competitive and many qualified applicants will not be offered financial awards. Regrettably, there is no need-based financial aid available for international students.
Admitted international applicants who pay the admission deposit will be issued an I-20 form. Upon receipt of the I-20, the student may apply for an F-1 visa for study at Wake Forest University. The Center for International Studies will assist you throughout the matriculation process.
International Application Requirements
International students apply to Wake Forest using the same application as all other students. The only special form required from international applicants is the Confidential Financial Information form. International applicants may also apply online. The application will be reviewed once each of the following is received:
- The Wake Forest University Application for Undergraduate Admission is available as a PDF and includes all short-answer and essay questions, the Secondary School Report and the Teacher Recommendation Form. The fee to apply is $50.
International applicants may also apply using the Common Application. Applicants using the Common Application must also submit the Wake Forest Supplement to the Common Application. Common Applications will not be reviewed until this supplement is received.
- Certified transcripts are required from each secondary school, college or university attended. A record of at least four years of schooling is needed in order to evaluate the application. Detailed information concerning courses taken and grades received must be listed on these records. If necessary, transcripts should be translated into English with the originals sealed and attached.
