The Fund for Ethics, Leadership and Civic Responsibility
About the fund The Fund for Ethics, Leadership, and Civic Responsibility was established through a $1 million grant from the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation to Wake Forest University in 1991. Endowment from the fund is earmarked for helping faculty, staff, and students to develop curriculum and extracurricular programs in ethics, leadership and civic responsibility. Through programs supported by the Fund, the University seeks to promote and enhance initiatives connecting theoretical ideas with pragmatic practices. The Fund is administered by a committee which includes a staff member from the development office and faculty representation from the Babcock School of Management, the Law School, the Graduate School, the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy, and Wake Forest College. Eligibility Eligibility for Fund awards is restricted to members of the Wake Forest University community. The evaluation committee anticipates that most applicants will be members of the faculty, but staff may also apply. Students who are sponsored by faculty or staff are eligible to participate, too. Each proposal will be judged on its relationship to the goals of the Fund, the clarity of the proposed project, outcomes for the university and the community, and on the qualifications and past performance of the applicant. Priority will be given to those proposals that:
