Undergraduate students are invited to apply to this fund for projects
that incorporate independent and directed academic
study in a research project based on international
or domestic service work. This program nurtures
connections between faculty and students through
formal academic study and international or
domestic fieldwork. Between three and six student
scholars will be chosen. A minimum of 120 contact
hours over at least four weeks is required.
Most projects are expected to take place during
the summer. Interested students should seek a faculty
member to help develop and mentor their proposal.
Participation in a pre and post symposium is
required to engage faculty, students, and the
campus community in presentations and discussion
regarding the individual projects. Copies of
research reports and papers developed under
the auspices of the Pro Humanitate Scholars
Program shall, upon request, be forwarded to
the Coordinators of the Fund. Students must receive academic
credit for their work, for which tuition will be waived.
