CAREER
INFORMATION |
Listed
here are internet resources to help students consider careers and
job
opportunities that are linked with having a Degree in Sociology
or are contextualized by the field. Do note that there is not necessarily
any deterministic relationship between academic major and career
choices - Sociology majors can handily move on to graduate school,
law school or medical school; can become architects or film-makers;
can pursue careers in education or politics; and can be accountants
or social workers. Sociology is as much a framework for widely
applicable problem-solving as it is a knowledge/skill-set that
enables students to acquire specific jobs. With this in mind, it
can be
very important
to discuss career issues with your Professors, Advisors, and with
the Wake Forest University Career Services Center. This site should
serve
to provide broad-stroke information about careers and jobs; and
make you aware of the wealth of opportunities availabe to those
interested in Sociology. Note: some of these sites are
subscription-based or have other limited access and may only be
available when connected to the internet at on-campus locations
or otherwise through the WFU network.
