University of South Florida John Skinner, Director In 1995, the University of South Florida launched its new doctoral program in Aging Studies. As of fall 1996, there are more than 40 faculty members associated with the Ph.D. program who represent a wide variety of disciplines ranging from the arts to basic sciences. The emphasis is on research using an interdisciplinary approach, combining diverse research methods and areas of expertise to study the aging process. Students in the program are eligible for an annual stipend as well as research and teaching assistantships with the USF community. Most Ph.D. students receive tuition waivers provided by the USF Graduate School.
