Spartan Installation

Wavefunction Spartan ES requires a network hardware key to run. You must be logged into the Wake Forest University network to use it.

Instructions for installing Wavefunction Spartan ES on your Thinkpad:

Make sure your computer is on the Wake Forest campus **WIRED** network and logged onto the Deacnet network. The installation will take excessive time to install via the wireless network and may not install completely.

  1. Click on the Start Menu, and choose Run...
  2. At the prompt, type in: \\acad1\chemistry\pub\SpartanES\install.bat
    Click OK.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Next
  6. After a short installation period, you should see a message prompting you to install the "HASP" driver. Click Next.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Finished.
  9. Click Close.
  10. Your computer may need to reboot after installation.

NOTE: Windows XP may appear to freeze on step 5. If this should happen, just minimize the top application window. You should then see the "operation complete" message box. Click OK.
***DO NOT CLICK CANCEL OR THE SETUP WILL NOT COMPLETE***

 

Note: If you get a "Key not found" error, try this:

  1. Click on the Start Menu, and choose Run...
  2. At the prompt, type in: \\acad1\chemistry\pub\SpartanES\SpartanFix.bat
    Click OK.
