Middleton Collection
An anonymous donor has given the University three paintings and bequeathed the remainder of his impressive art collection and home to Wake Forest University. The donor’s collection was begun in 1949 and contains mostly works by American artists, ranging from 18th century portraits to 20th century contemporary art. The three pieces already received by the university are by John Singleton Copley, William Merritt Chase, and William Glackens.
