The Archbold Biological Station, one of the premier biological stations in the country, is devoted to long-term ecological research and conservation. Nestled in 5,000 acres of a unique and ancient habitat on the Lake Wales Ridge, the station and its environs is the home of black bears, Florida panthers, bobcats, alligators, Audubon’s caracara, bald eagles, Florida scrub jays, sandhill cranes, and of course some of best insects in the world!
